the interrupted making of cheese on a biscuit
chapter nineteen
“Did Bel complain about your pants, too?” Asked Tay of Nick.
“Yeah, she’s really strange. I like your pants, personally.”
“Yeah, and I like yours.”
“My pants seem to like your pants, too.”
“What?!!!”
“Haven’t you realised we’re being slowly but surely drawn towards each other, by our pants?”
Tay looked down. Caught off guard for a minute, his skin tight red leather pants took over and he hurtled across the room, ending up plastered up against Nick.
Tay’s eyes widened in shock. His pants and Nick’s pants seemed to be in love. The pants started making little grunting noises, and rubbing against each other.
Needless to say, Nick and Tay were uncomfortable. They tried desperately to pull apart, but their pants were too strong.
The pants rubbed together even harder, and it put Nick off balance. He fell, and with him fell Tay.
Nick was on top of Tay, when the zips started opening.
“Sh*t, the zips are opening,” said Tay. “This does not look good.”
Just then, the kitchen door opened, and through came Bel and Kate, each carrying a huge glass bowl piled high with popcorn. They were chatting amiably, but stopped dead in their tracks when they saw Nick and Tay entwined together on the floor.
Two bowls of popcorn flew into the air, and came crashing down on the floor, mixed with shards of glass from the bowls. The crash was so big that the floor shook, and next door, Bob's CD player jumped, and switched from playing MMMBop to
Backstreet's Back.
Taylor moaned, and the girls mistook it for a moan of passion.
“What on earth are you doing?!” They screamed in unison.
“It’s not what it looks like!” Shouted Tay.
“Yeah, Tay, what does it look like?” Snapped Belinda.
“Our pants are trying to have sex, and we couldn’t take them off.”
“Yeah, right,” said Kate.
“It’s true,” said Tay. ‘D’you think we actually want to do this?”
Bel and Kate were silent.
“Yeah,” said Nick desperately. “We love you chicks.”
The girls melted instantly. “Awwww. You boys are sooooo cute! We love you too.”
“That’s nice,” Tay gasped from underneath Nick. “Now, would you please help us.”
“Oh. Sorry.”
Bel grabbed a pair of scissors, and after a few snips and cuts, the boys could stand up.
“Lucky I decided to wear boxers today,” said Nick. “Normally I don’t wear anything.”
“That would have been fun,” giggled Kate.
As the two boys stood there in Bel’s house, surrounded by popcorn and broken glass, Taylor sighed. He looked at the two pairs of ripped pants, and made a declaration.
“I, Jordan Taylor Hanson, swear that from this day forth, I will never again wear tight leather pants.”
“And I,” Nick continued, “will never again wear happy pants. Under any circumstances.”
“Well, that’s a relief,” the girls giggled.

All four were still laughing a few minutes later, when Zac and Isaac returned.
They stared at Nick and Tay, who suddenly remembered they were still wearing only boxers.
“You guys been fooling around with the girls, have you?” Teased Zac. “Woohoo! Go Nick! Go Tay!”

That night after dinner, Belinda’s mother brought out a plate of cheese and biscuits.
Tay smiled happily, and looked around at his family and Belinda’s, sitting comfortably around the fire.
“These have been a great few weeks,” he said contentedly. Belinda smiled and took his hand.
“Yes,” said Diana. “But you boys had better get back to recording your new album pretty soon."
“What are we going to call the album, anyway?” Asked Zac.
Just then Belinda’s mother picked up the platter of cheese.
“Would you like some more cheese on a biscuit?” She asked Walker.
“That’s it!” exclaimed Belinda.
“What?!!!” said Tay.
“That’s the perfect name for your new album, Cheese On A Biscuit!”
Everybody laughed.
